These terms are an agreement between you and BESTimate ("we", "us"), which makes and runs the BESTimate app (by FKC). By creating an account, installing the app or paying for a plan, you agree to them.
1. The service
BESTimate is a desktop application for Windows and Mac that helps engineers prepare estimates in government formats — Summary, Abstract (Bill of Quantity) and Measurement sheets — from measurements typed in or taken from drawings, and exports them as Excel files. It needs an internet connection and an account. Estimates, saved items and packages are stored in your account online.
2. Your account
- You must give a working email address and keep your password private. You are responsible for everything done with your account.
- One account is for one person. It may be used on up to 2 computers. Sharing an account between people is not allowed; we may limit or close accounts that are shared.
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract under Indian law.
3. Free trial
Each person can use a 7-day free trial of every mode once. Excel files made during the trial carry a “TRIAL VERSION” mark and are locked for editing. Creating extra accounts to get more trials is not allowed.
4. Plans, prices and payment
- Plans (Manual, Semi auto, Automatic) are sold monthly or yearly at the prices shown in the app and on our website. A higher plan includes the modes of the lower plans. Prices are in Indian Rupees.
- Payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details.
- Your plan starts as soon as the payment succeeds and runs for the period paid (one month or one year). Paying again before the end adds to the existing end date.
- AutoPay: if you choose monthly AutoPay, you authorise a charge of the plan price every month until you turn it off. You can turn it off any time from your account in the app; the plan stays active until the end of the month already paid.
- We may change prices for future periods. Changes never affect a period you have already paid for, and AutoPay customers are told before a new price applies.
5. Delivery
BESTimate is a digital service; nothing is shipped. The app is downloaded from our website, and access to paid modes is switched on in your account immediately after payment.
6. Refunds
Please see our Refund & Cancellation Policy. In short: try BESTimate free for 7 days first, because payments are not refundable except for duplicate or failed charges.
7. Your work and professional responsibility
- Estimates, measurements and drawings you create or upload belong to you.
- BESTimate is a calculation and formatting tool. Rate-book data (such as the BMC / MCGM USOR 2023) is reproduced from published schedules and may contain errors or become out of date. The engineer who prepares and signs an estimate is responsible for checking every quantity, rate and total before it is submitted or relied on.
- Quantities taken from drawings depend on how the drawing is made (scale, layers, colours, closed outlines). Always check them.
8. Fair use
You may not copy, resell, rent or share the app or its rate data; try to get around plan checks, the computer limit or trial marks; reverse-engineer, decompile or tamper with the app or our servers; or use BESTimate for anything unlawful.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep BESTimate available and your data safe, but the service may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control. We may improve or change features; we will not remove the core estimate features of a plan you have paid for during the paid period.
10. Ending your account
You can stop using BESTimate at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms; if we close an account without a breach on your part, we refund the unused part of any yearly plan.
11. Liability
BESTimate is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profit, tender outcomes or costs of re-work), and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction. Please contact us first — most problems are solved quickly that way.
